Marked Clearly Enough That No One Parks There by Mistake
A fire lane only works if it stays clear, and that starts with visible, correctly marked paint. Under the Florida Fire Prevention Code, fire lanes typically need red curb or pavement marking with "FIRE LANE" or "NO PARKING FIRE LANE" stenciled in white letters at set intervals, plus supporting signage. Most local fire marshals expect that marking to be re-painted every couple of years as it fades, since faded fire lane paint doesn't hold up in an inspection any better than no paint at all.
